The Room Apartments is the first residential project by ambitious Preston company, Downtown Living, set up by a group of Lancashire business people who saw the potential for city living in Preston.

The Preston boss was impressed. He said: "I think the concept of city living is terrific for many people.
"If I was a young businessman working in the city it would be absolutely perfect, probably even more so now the way fuel costs have gone.
"These apartments would be ideal for young, single players."
He added: "You can see that Preston is continually developing. That's good for the club and for the city."

The Room Lawson Street location sits on the edge of the ambitious £750 million Tithebarn scheme, involving property giants Grosvenor, which will include the creation of major retail, residential and leisure facilities in the heart of the city.
Frank Bretherton, chairman of Downtown Living, said: "We have been delighted with the response to The Room so far and the fact that we have already sold 65 per cent of the scheme highlights the quality of the homes we area creating in Preston.
"There is no doubt that The Room is giving Preston a new benchmark in terms of quality apartment design. The stylish showrooms we have now created give a taste of the city-living lifestyle The Room can deliver."
